The Color of Spring

25 Apr 2012 / 0 Comments / in Uncategorized/by Rachel

When we moved here about 5 years ago I was working at Dragonfly Dry Goods (which unfortunately is no longer here in town due to the Brooks House fire). We carried pottery by Beth Mueller and there was a platter that I always liked but did not fully understand (we moved here in the summer time) it said something about the beautiful green in the Spring.  I did not fully understand this until that first Spring out for my morning walk when I noticed a very special chartreuse that all of a sudden had taken over. I was one of the most breath taking moments. For a while I thought maybe it was just the transition of the winter to the bleak stick season that it seemed that much more vibrant here, but in traveling this weekend  I feel there is an actual difference in leaf color here at the turn of the season. Just another wonderful thing about Vermont!
